Summer project

Turn your knowledge into practice in a summer project with Europe's largest producer of renewable energy.

We offer an annual summer project – a rewarding and exciting challenge where you get the opportunity to work on current and important topics in renewable energy, decarbonisation and electrification. The project offers a steep learning curve and an opportunity to develop skills that will make you better equipped for working life.

How does it work?

Each year, we recruit six to eight candidates with different academic and cultural backgrounds from Norwegian and international educational institutions. With close follow-up from our mentors, the team works together for eight weeks. Towards the end of the period, the group presents the project's results to Group management and the rest of the organisation.

How do I apply?

Information will be made available here.

Summer project 2020

For the summer project 2020, students were invited to develop new ideas for Statkraft's EV charging business. The key challenge was to “Explore new adjacent business opportunities within the space of Electric Vehicle charging”.

The results contributed to creating value and a pole position in the coupling of the energy and mobility sectors.

From 313 applicants we selected six motivated and talented students to approach this challenge. The students worked out of the headquarters in Oslo and were supervised by Statkraft mentors from across our organisation. The students worked in a multidisciplinary team with various academic backgrounds, such as industrial economics and technology management, innovation management, mechanical engineering, economics and renewable energy.
