Offshore wind
The market for offshore wind power is growing, and offshore wind will be an important contribution on the road to a renewable and climate-neutral future.
Statkraft's strategy is to be a developer and operator of offshore wind power plants in Northern Europe, especially in markets where the company is already established.
Our aim is to develop offshore wind on a competitive scale and to continue the search for new opportunities together with our partners. We will first look for opportunities in the North Sea basin, focusing on Norway and Ireland, but will not rule out investments in offshore wind in other markets in the future.
Statkraft has previously developed several large offshore wind projects outside the UK which were later sold at a good profit.

North Irish Sea Array
The North Irish Sea Array (NISA) is an offshore wind power project off the coast of the counties of Dublin, Meath and Louth in Ireland. NISA was one of seven offshore wind projects approved for development by the Irish government in December 2022. A construction application is planned for submission in 2023, with an expected start-up in 2026. NISA is divided into three phases with a total development capacity of 1700 MW.
