The plant uses a height of fall of 318 metres from the intake reservoir in the Ovrisdalen Valley. The power plant is equipped with two Francis turbines.
The plant releases its water into the Vikja River, regulating the river in the process. In the section of the river where salmon migrate, water flow is somewhat reduced due to the operation of the power plant.
The generating units were upgraded around 2008.
