Rana power plant

The Rana power plant is located in Rana Municipality in Nordland County.

The power plant has four Francis turbines.

Lake Store Akersvatnet is the intake reservoir for the power plant, but it also uses water from Lakes Kalvatn, Gressvatnet, Kjennsvatnet and Durmålsvatn. Water from Lake Tverrvatnet is pumped up to Lake Akersvatnet. The power plant uses a gross height of fall of 520 metres between Lake Akersvatnet and the plant.

The development of the Rana power plant was completed in stages between 1968 and 1980.
